Exhibition “City Dreams”

The exhibition “City Dreams” is the continuation of the annual international art projects that the Russian House in Berlin has been hosting since 2018. Life in the modern metropolis is characterized by a multitude of impressions, rapid pace, contradictions, and constantly emerging challenges.

Each individual experiences the city and its different spaces in their own way, seeking those they wish to explore. The city offers a space for realizing many plans, implementing ideas and desires. However, it is often not easy to find one’s place and “dream location.” What should a livable city look like today? Has urbanization come at too high a price? Is it the vibrancy of the big city, the constantly new and inspiring encounters, or is it a place of silence that captivates us? Have we found our “urban oases” and balance, or are we still searching for new perspectives?

The artists Oxana Baumgart, Vahe Bazikyan, Tatiana Deynekina, Alexander Dik, Mascha Fey, Daria Izvolskaya, Tanja Neljubina, Ingolf Neumann, Lars Neumann, Sergey Shulga, Vladimir Sichov, Anton Sokolov, and Oksana Solomennik lead the viewers into a tension between dream and reality, between everyday life and magic, inviting them to feel these unique moments with them.
